On November 23rd, the 2nd Lishui Training Course on Identification of Traditional Chinese Medicine, hosted by Lishui Pharmaceutical Association and undertaken by Lishui Institute of Quality Inspection and Testing and Zhejiang Benefit Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., was grandly held at Benefit Pharmaceutical. The purpose of this training course is to improve the professional skills of the city's traditional Chinese medicine team, strengthen experience exchange, and jointly promote the vigorous development of the city's traditional Chinese medicine cause. Nearly 150 relevant practitioners engaged in the identification of properties and quality research of Chinese medicinal materials and decoction pieces from Lishui market supervision system, pharmaceutical production and R&D enterprises, medical institutions and other units participated in this training.

I. Opening Speech

This training course was hosted by Fan Lei, Vice President of Lishui Institute of Quality Inspection, and Lan Yuecha, Director of Production Department of Lishui Market Supervision Bureau, delivered an opening mobilization speech.

Director Lan made four instructions for this training course:

First, enhance the standing. It is necessary to deeply understand the historical mission of high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine in the new journey of traditional Chinese medicine in the new era, and effectively accelerate the sense of responsibility, urgency and mission to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine. Improve political consciousness and action consciousness.

Second, seize opportunities. The inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine should be planned and promoted in the overall situation of Healthy Lishui and common prosperity.

Third, give play to advantages. Based on the actual situation of the industry, focus on key points, accurately promote the main tasks of the development of the traditional Chinese medicine health industry, and take the development of the traditional Chinese medicine health industry as an important practice to develop new productive forces.

Fourth, apply what is learned. Combine the actual situation of their own industry to transform the learning results into specific measures in work, and be pragmatic and hardworking.

II. Teachers' Lectures

This training course invited Lü Xiankang, a technical expert in traditional Chinese medicine in Zhejiang Province, a licensed pharmacist of traditional Chinese medicine, a member of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, a member of the Digital Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a member of the Expert Committee of Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Association; and Li Huadong, a distinguished visiting professor of Shanghai Naval Medical University and a distinguished traditional Chinese medicine expert of Zhejiang Institute for Food and Drug Control, to conduct in-depth elaboration and sharing on the difficulties and hot issues in the field of traditional Chinese medicine identification.

Teacher Lü Xiankang gave a keynote lecture on Commodity Economics of Cordyceps Sinensis, introducing the symbiotic relationship between Cordyceps sinensis and ecology, animals, plants and microorganisms; and explored the characteristics of Cordyceps sinensis from different producing areas, as well as the commodity characteristics and identification points of fresh and dried Cordyceps sinensis, popularizing a lot of professional knowledge about Cordyceps sinensis and its identification.

Professor Li Huadong gave a keynote lecture on Identification of Fake and Inferior Drugs in Common Traditional Chinese Medicine Markets in Recent Two Years, which was illustrated and explained in simple terms. He made a detailed explanation on the identification of properties of common Chinese medicinal materials such as fossil fragments, smilax glabra, amorphophallus rivieri, etc., the sources of fake and inferior products, the comparison between genuine and fake products, adulteration for weight gain, easy dyeing, etc., enabling the trainees to understand and master the identification skills of Chinese medicinal materials more intuitively.

Faced with the generous teaching of the two professional teachers, every trainee benefited a lot. During the course, they focused on recording and absorbing the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine taught and popularized by the two teachers, with their pens writing constantly and their eyes fixed. The participating trainees agreed that the training content was rich and practical, which was of great help to better carry out the identification and inspection of Chinese medicinal materials in the future.

III. After-class Epilogue

This training not only improved the trainees' traditional Chinese medicine identification technology, but also built a communication bridge for inspection and testing institutions, enterprises and scientific research units, providing interactive learning opportunities. What's more, it made everyone feel the strong power of the passing on and guiding of the team of traditional Chinese medicine inspection technical talents. In the future, Benefit will build more exchange platforms for professional knowledge, contribute to laying a solid talent foundation for the development of Lishui's traditional Chinese medicine cause, and make the traditional Chinese medicine health industry truly become a strong driving force for promoting Lishui's leapfrog and high-quality development.
