Benefit Pharmaceuticals' First Traditional Chinese Medicine Processing Technician Skills Competition

To further stimulate Benefit employees' enthusiasm for learning techniques, refining professional skills, and competing in technical competencies, comprehensively elevate the skill levels of TCM processing professionals, and provide enhanced platforms for self-expression and value realization, Benefit Pharmaceuticals convened the Inaugural Traditional Chinese Medicine Processing Technician Skills Competition on October 26. This event was organized by the Lishui Economic Development Zone Federation of Trade Unions and hosted by the Trade Union Committee of Zhejiang Benefit Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd.

Part.1 Opening Ceremony

01. Leadership Address

At the commencement of the competition, Ms. Tang Yingfei, Chairperson of the Lishui Economic Development Zone Federation of Trade Unions, delivered the opening address. Chairperson Tang emphasized that both Lishui City and the nation prioritize skilled talent development. She encouraged participants to leverage this trend, affirming that the Development Zone would endeavor to secure resources and provide comprehensive support services. Chairperson Tang underscored that "Where effort is exerted, there will be reward," urging contestants to value the platform provided by the company, affirm their capabilities, and emphasize the learning process.

02. Representative Oaths

Judge representative Mr. Zhu Meipeng (Production Director) and contestant representative Mr. Shu Yuchen took solemn oaths.

03. Chairperson's Remarks

Ms. Wu Lizi, Chairperson of the Company Trade Union and General Manager of Procurement, delivered a speech. Part.2 Competition Proceedings

The skills competition comprised two components: a theoretical knowledge examination and practical operations. The theoretical examination covered processing theory and fundamental principles of TCM processing. Practical skills assessment included slicing techniques and processing methods. The judging panel for on-site operations consisted of Ms. Zhu Yini (Deputy General Manager of Quality), Mr. Zhu Meipeng (Production Director), Mr. Zhu Huilin (Director of Quality Assurance), and Mr. Zhao Liangzhi (Supervisor of the Decoction Pieces Workshop).

01. Theoretical Examination

During the theoretical examination, all contestants demonstrated composure, focus, and diligence in completing their answers.

02. Slicing Competition

At the slicing competition venue, contestants were required to process the Chinese herbal medicine Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Red Peony Root) to standard specifications within a stipulated timeframe. The atmosphere was intense, with judges conducting rigorous evaluations. Only proficient technique and standardized operation could satisfy the stringent assessment criteria.

03. Stir-Frying with Adjuvants Competition

The TCM stir-frying with adjuvants segment was the highlighted segment of the competition. Contestants performed each step – from ingredient loading to stir-frying, processing, and cleaning – with steady proficiency, showcasing their solid technical foundation and skill level. The air was filled with the distinctive aroma of herbs, creating a scene of fervent activity.

Part.3 Award Ceremony

After intense competition, Zhang Zhen, Liao Zhenzhen, Guan Lianqiu, Liu Tianle, Xu Qiaojie, and Wu Lingling distinguished themselves, securing first, second, and third prizes respectively.
