   The positive trend of the domestic epidemic situation has been consolidated and expanded, and strict precautions against overseas epidemic input have been taken

At present, 15 provinces and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have achieved "double zero" of existing local confirmed cases and suspected cases, among which 5 provinces have achieved "triple zero" of existing local confirmed cases, suspected cases and close contacts. The positive trend of the domestic epidemic situation has been consolidated and expanded. At the same time, the overseas epidemic is showing a rapid spread trend, and the number of imported cases is gradually increasing, so it is necessary to strictly prevent the import of overseas epidemics.

Latest research progress
   Favipiravir has good clinical efficacy and is recommended to be included in the diagnosis and treatment plan

Favipiravir has completed clinical research and shown good clinical efficacy. In the clinical research on the treatment of new coronary pneumonia, no obvious adverse reactions have been found. In terms of accessibility, domestic enterprises have obtained the drug registration approval from the State Drug Administration in February this year, and mass production has been realized, so the supply of clinical drugs is guaranteed. In view of the good safety, clear efficacy and accessibility of favipiravir, after full demonstration by experts organized by the scientific research team, it has been formally recommended to the medical treatment team, suggesting that it should be included in the diagnosis and treatment plan as soon as possible.

Stem cell therapy is safe and effective

Stem cell therapy for patients with new coronary pneumonia is safe and effective, which can quickly relieve or stop the aggravation of dyspnea in severe and critical patients. Improvements have been achieved in clinical manifestations, respiratory function, imaging examinations, etc., and generally, cure can be achieved within 8-10 days. In addition, stem cells have unique advantages in preventing pulmonary fibrosis and improving the long-term prognosis of patients. We will further step up efforts to promote the close integration of research and clinical treatment.

The research and development progress of China's new crown vaccine is generally in the international advanced ranks

Up to now, the research and development of vaccines in the five technical directions have generally progressed smoothly. Most R&D teams will complete preclinical research in April and gradually start clinical trials. According to the latest information, Chinese units with relatively rapid R&D progress have submitted clinical trial application materials to the State Drug Administration on a rolling basis, and have carried out relevant work such as demonstration of clinical trial protocols and recruitment of volunteers. Clinical trials will start after approval by the State Drug Administration in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. It should be said that the research and development progress of China's new crown vaccine is generally in the international advanced ranks, and will not be slower than that of foreign countries.

At present, scientists in China's vaccine field are, in accordance with relevant regulations and technical requirements, on the one hand, going all out against time, and on the other hand, adhering to the law of science, to accelerate vaccine research and application on the premise of ensuring the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

The cooperation between traditional Chinese and Western medicine has effectively reduced the mortality rate

In all regions of the country except Hubei, cases treated with traditional Chinese medicine accounted for 96.37% of the cumulative confirmed cases, and the participation rate of traditional Chinese medicine in Hubei also reached 91.05%. Traditional Chinese medicine has played an important role in preventing mild and ordinary patients from developing into severe and critical cases, as well as in the treatment of severe and critical patients, especially in reducing high fever, promoting the absorption of exudates, improving oxygenation level, and reducing pulmonary fibrosis. It should be said that the mutual cooperation and collaboration between traditional Chinese and Western medicine have effectively reduced the mortality rate.

The new coronavirus cannot be transmitted through the fecal-oral route

Based on the knowledge of respiratory and digestive tract transmitted viruses, there is no direct evidence that the new coronavirus can be transmitted through the fecal-oral route. Experiments by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences have proved that even if experimental mice and monkeys are inoculated with high doses of the virus, the animals cannot be infected, and no diseases caused by virus infection are seen. It can be said that the virus cannot be transmitted through the fecal-oral route. Even if the virus in feces is infectious, it cannot be infected through the digestive tract, which has been confirmed by experiments. However, it does not rule out infection through unclean hands touching the respiratory tract and conjunctiva, which reminds us to pay attention to personal hygiene and living habits.

International cooperation
   China will further strengthen international scientific research cooperation in traceability, drugs, vaccines, testing, etc.

Sharing of knowledge achievements: Chinese research teams were the first to share the full gene sequence of the virus with the World Health Organization;

Drug screening and R&D: China has made public the diagnosis and treatment plan of new coronary pneumonia and drug screening results to the world. Key drugs such as favipiravir, convalescent plasma, and traditional Chinese medicine have been provided to relevant countries with outbreaks;

Vaccine R&D: At present, several Chinese enterprises or scientific research institutions have carried out cooperation with foreign countries to promote the R&D of new crown vaccines;

Testing reagents: According to incomplete statistics, 14 kinds of new coronavirus testing reagents developed by 5 universities have obtained EU CE certification, formally obtaining the qualification to enter the EU market. We have not only donated a batch of reagents, but also started supplying to more than ten countries including Italy, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.
