On August 18, 2023, the Songyang County Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Chain Advancement Conference and the Signing Ceremony for Benefit Pharmaceutical's Entry into the "Jiangnan Medicine Valley" Project were grandly convened at Nankengyuan Village, Xiangxi Town. Wu Lihua, Chairman of Zhejiang Benefit Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., attended with senior executives, alongside county leaders Xu Weimin, Zhang Shangjun, Liu Jinli, Lin Jiadong, and Shen Jian.

Prior to the ceremony, participants inspected the Tetrastigma hemsleyanum nursery and wild cultivation base within Jiangnan Medicine Valley. They evaluated the medicinal value of Tetrastigma hemsleyanum and its under-forest cultivation model, receiving comprehensive briefings on the valley's developmental blueprint. Chairman Wu Lihua elaborated on the plant's multifunctional applications: its subterranean tubers for pharmaceutical formulations, aerial parts for beverages, and leaves as raw materials for children's toothpaste and women's skincare products. He emphasized that Benefit's establishment in Jiangnan Medicine Valley aims to create China's inaugural GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) demonstration base for Tetrastigma hemsleyanum, showcasing leadership in varietal selection, seedling cultivation, planting methodologies, and intensive production models. Benefit pledges optimal resource integration to develop two gold-standard products exceeding ¥100 million in value within three years, thereby advancing Songyang's TCM industry toward premium-quality production.

Following the site inspection, the project signing ceremony commenced under the direction of Liu Jinli, Deputy Director of Songyang County People's Congress Standing Committee.

In his address, Chairman Wu Lihua characterized the collaboration as "aligning favorable timing, geographical advantage, and human synergy." He noted the alignment with national directives on TCM heritage and innovation, Songyang's robust policy support for medicinal cultivation, and the region's optimal ecological conditions for Tetrastigma hemsleyanum. As a leading TCM enterprise in Lishui, Benefit embraces the core philosophy of "one herb, shared prosperity" to establish industrial linkages, consolidate resources, and pioneer China's first Tetrastigma hemsleyanum GAP cultivation base.

Zhang Liyun, Deputy General Manager, executed an agreement with Lan Mingshun, Deputy Director of Songyang Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, establishing Benefit's commitment to purchase Songyang-produced Tetrastigma hemsleyanum.

Zhang Liyun further formalized a product cooperation agreement with He Qunrong, Director of Songyang Health Bureau, integrating Benefit's products into the county's healthcare system.

A land transfer agreement was concluded with Ye Yongjun, Chairman of Xiangxi Town's Village Collective Company.

These accords signify Benefit's formal integration into Songyang's TCM development ecosystem and its accession to the Jiangnan Medicine Valley initiative.
