In antiquity, Shennong traversed diverse regions and sampled myriad herbs, thereby establishing Chinese medicine as a cultural treasure. Pharmacologist Li Shizhen dedicated over two decades to surveying sacred mountains and rivers, personally collecting medicinal plants to compile the Compendium of Materia Medica. Throughout history, wild medicinal resources have commanded perpetual exploration, research, and utilization by successive generations of TCM practitioners.

On July 16th, a medicinal resource exploration team—jointly organized by Lishui TCM Pharmaceutical Quality Control Center, Lishui Pharmaceutical Association's Committee for Chinese & Natural Medicines, Suichang County Hospital Medical Consortium, and Benefit Pharmaceutical—conducted field research at Baima Mountain in Suichang to authenticate botanical origins and investigate medicinal treasures.

This ecologically pristine area features luxuriant vegetation, abundant medicinal resources, and optimal conditions for botanical identification. Expedition leaders provided systematic instruction in plant recognition while elucidating phytochemical characteristics, differentiation of morphologically similar species, folk clinical applications, and the development of She ethnic medicinal resources in Lishui. Their concise yet comprehensive pedagogy enriched participants' understanding.

Participants derived substantial academic value from this endeavor, with fatigue eclipsed by intellectual fulfillment. The activity facilitated preliminary assessment of Baima Mountain's medicinal reserves, enhanced competence in identifying botanical sources of TCM materials, and deepened appreciation for Chinese medicine's profound cultural heritage. Consequently, confidence in TCM's developmental trajectory was fortified.
