"The Art of War" by Sun Tzu is the earliest extant military treatise in China and also the earliest military work in the world, known as the "Bible of Military Science". It is a brilliant treasure in China's ancient military cultural heritage and an important part of excellent traditional culture. With profound content, profound thoughts, and rigorous logic, it is a concentrated embodiment of the essence of ancient military thought. Its extensive and profound military ideology is not only helpful for the thinking and formulation of corporate strategies but also can guide our daily decision-making and life practices.

There is such a person: he obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering at the age of 20, graduated with a second undergraduate degree in statistics at 28, went to the United States to study for an MBA at 36, obtained a master's degree in business administration from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics at 41, received a doctoral degree in management at 46, and went to Boston College in the United States as a visiting scholar at 49. Obtaining a doctoral degree at an "advanced age" and aiming at the lecture platform of colleges and universities is to spread the excellent traditional Chinese culture through different platforms!

On July 18, 2020, Dr. Tang Chaoyi, the protagonist of the story and currently the Director of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Shanghai National Accounting Institute, was invited to visit Benefit and delivered a vivid core course on "The Art of War and Business Strategies" to the middle and senior management teams of Zhejiang Benefit Pharmaceutical, Lishui Branch of Chouzhou Bank, and Fortune Park·Red Star Macalline.

Dr. Tang started with "The Art of War in Life", using a combination of aerial photography and exploration. From reflections on The Art of War and the Thirty-Six Stratagems to discussions on the ideal realm of war, "subduing the enemy without fighting", he summarized that the highest realm of competition in "subduing the enemy without fighting" is not to contend, and the "subduing the enemy without fighting" in life is to turn opponents into fans. With interesting, humorous, and in-depth narration, Dr. Tang centered on "Dr. Tang's Life Insights" to interpret the essence of The Art of War and guide life practice, creating an active atmosphere in the classroom.

With his unique insights into The Art of War, Dr. Tang organically combined Eastern and Western cultures, demonstrating the relationship between "form, momentum, victory" in war and "form, momentum, victory" in business strategies. Through some qualitative analyses, he used formulas and models for quantitative analysis, which was refreshing and beneficial.

The core idea of The Art of War is "to control others rather than be controlled by others". Therefore, war is a struggle for the initiative, aiming to seize military and diplomatic initiative for the country. Life is the same: there is no need to be aggressive everywhere or advance triumphantly all the way. Only by taking the key steps in life can one become a winner in life.

At the end of the course, Dr. Tang shared the four characters "the spirit of a dragon and horse" (meaning vigor and vitality) given to him by his father with all the participants. He advised everyone to set lofty aspirations, plan goals, be down-to-earth, proceed steadily, and move forward step by step.

Life is a battle,

Take control of the initiative,

Take control of your destiny,

And you will be the winner of the future!
